I have heard that socks are not safe to use in a glider's cage. It was smart of you to turn the sock inside out, however, your glider can play with the outside which could cause some strings/pulls to occur. The pulled sections (that are in the shape of a hoop) could strangle your glider, they can swallow the material, etc. There may be some types of socks that are safer (fleece socks or some type of material that does not fray at all), but on the whole, average socks are not safe.
