Bare with me, it starts out sad, but then gets happy. Here's the story of my life: I'm Tiffany, 23 years old, and I was born in Buffalo, NY to my 23 year old mother and my cheating father. He had an affair with a woman from work while my mother was pregnant with me and then left her when I wasn't even 2 yet. I share his middle name, Lynn, but all I can think about is the wh*re he is STILL with because guess what her name is? Yep, you guessed it, Lynn. I see my father and Lynn about every 2 months. We get along ok and I think both my parents are better off without each other, but I still hate the fact that it happened. I have 3 older half sisters by my father. The one closet to my age, Sara, had her first child before she was 16. The middle one, Jenna, is a recovering crack addict with an abusive boyfriend. And the oldest, Jessica, is a shut in who is afraid of being out in public. All my sisters dropped out of High School. I am the only one of my father's children that has graduated High School (let along college). Sadly, they get the most support and attention, but I'm starting to think it's because they are more needy than I am. My mother raised me by working 2 or 3 jobs at a time. Even though she was barely home, she took me every where she could with her and spoiled me to no end. I was never left with a babysitter outside of the family until I was 6. She would even take me to work with her if she could. I would get her in trouble by eating the cherries and other fruits at the bar that were meant for the cocktails or turning the little swords they use for drinks into blow darts using a straw. After my father, my mother dated some abusive a**holes to me and her. One time I even had to call the cops at the age of 4 because her one boyfriend was beating her so bad I thought he was going to kill her. He found out I called and beat me unconscious and when I work up, the jerk was being taken away by the cops in handcuffs. I still have nightmares about that night...It went on for quite awhile, my mom dating jerks, until she finally met my current step-father, Doug. I call him my savior because he is the sweetest guy ever and everything got better when my mother met him. They married when I was 11 and had my half brother. I had some hardships in those years, but NOTHING compared to my childhood. We are a happy family now. My parents have a huge 2 story house now with my brother, 2 dogs, beautiful yard...they are living the dream. I moved out last year into an apartment with my wonderful boyfriend almost 3 years. We just upgraded recently to a better apartment, right around the corner from my mother. I have a 4 year college degree under my belt, Major in Criminal Justice and Minor in Sociology. I work for a highly regarded consulting firm and LOVE my job as a Library Information Specialist. Unlike many of my friends, I have a full time job with benefits at a company that is expanding in this horrible economy. My friends annoy me sometimes, but I love them. My boyfriend and I love to entertain. I also help my mother out at home when my step-dad gets called out for work (he works for an electric company) and I babysit my many cousins. I love my suggie babies, so much so that we are fostering a special needs duo right now. I'm a little in debt, but I am very happy with my life where it is right now. Here are some pics!: Me as a baby

If my screenname was the title of a song that described me.. I think it would have to be...Meredith Brooks song... Bitch hahahaha.. or something by Smashing Pumpkins. God how I miss zoning out in my room to that cd. No bills to worry about, other than gas in the car and insurance. No taxes, an easy job, I could wear no bra, short shorts, flannel shirts, and docs, and no one stared at me like I was a loser. My hair was never brushed and I hated makeup (I still don't wear any)... but dang it.. I was soooo cool.

I love how you took it from the song, it reminds me of myspace days. Oh how I miss them when I was Beautiful Disaster...from the 311 song. |

I have a ton more to say to you....and will after I am done working for the day. But, in short - I am proud of you. I am proud of your Mom. And, I am proud of your step Dad. You guys have really been through it and perseverance is a virtue you should be very proud of...because you have it. HUGS.
He kept that mullet until he turned 45...no joke! And thanks I'm very happy with how everything turned out |

This is very true! I haven't met a Doug I don't like And thanks Sabrina! I used to model for Fisher Price when I was a baby...and then I grew up |
