I am Josh I'm 13 and I'm homeschooled. I live in Ohio with sweltering summers and harsh winters but I never get cold I wear shorts through the winter much to my parents dismay. I have 2 sugar gliders Pika and Lucy. I have a fish tank with so many guppies its not even funny(man they breed like CRAZY). I have a 7 yr old chocolate lab named Bailey that never grew out of puppyhood and is quite dumb. She can't stand baloons she goes crazy with them. If we come in and we have a hood on or hat she doesnt know who it is and tries to attack us. My brother bought the dog so she follows him around and when my brother and dad wrestle Baily will attack my brother instead of my dad. I really like to read... a lot. It's like the only thing I do. If anyone has some suggestions on books I could read I'd be very thankful it seems like the library has run out of books. My favorite series I would say is Chronicles of Narnia I've read all 7 probably 10 times. I like almost any genre and sometimes biography's just depends on the person. I have been cursed with 5 cowlicks No matter how much water, gel, hairspray anything my hair will not lay down. And that's me. |

forgot to add I am #5 of 6 kids oldest 21 youngest 7 and my mom has 8 siblings so like 35 cousins and on my dads side he has a sister with 7 kids who all have kids so 24 kids-under the age of 10- it can be hectic when everyone is over from that side. I know nothing but a big family and couldn't imagine having thanksgiving or christmas with just 4-5 people |

Josh, nice to meet you! First Josh, get a breeder net that fits in your tank. My youngest brought home a ziploc bag with a few males and females end of last school year and dumped them in my 10 galloon tank and yeah, I know. They went nuts. I painstakingly fished each male out and put him into the breeder net. As the babies grew and I could see which ones were males and females, I'd do the same. So, now I've completely seperated the girls from the boys. Just fyi for you. I live in south Texas. Now thats sweltering heat. We rarely get really cold weather but when we do, 60 is freezing for us. We don't get cold fronts. We get not so hot fronts. |

I graduated at age 16 with getting my last two years done by home school. I loved it and don't regret that decision one bit!! As far as no social life, I am a huge social butterfly and made a ton of friends all over the world so that's completely a wrong stereotype! Nice to meet ya Josh btw :) |

agreed we come out so far ahead in life experiences and we have the flexibility to do it I went to school and it annoyed me having to wait for slower kids to get done I once took a test we had 3 and a half hours to take it i finished it in an hour and had to sit there and wait for everyone else it was agony |

Same here! me and you have a lot in common. I am also home schooled and I hate it when people act like I don't have a social life. I think being home schooled gives kids more opportunities to do what they want to learn about instead of having to do a bunch of stuff that wont be of any use. Now I have to wright my bio. |

I think you might like anything by Robert Asprin, He's an old school 'punny' writer but such a good story teller. Also the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony is a can't miss set. The second to last one is a little weird but all together good. |

Well with reading comes the vocabulary and I have a pretty good memory too thanks and homeschooling is awesome you get so much more learning experiences being homeschooled. In school you have to be there everyday in that building when your homeschooled we go all over the place visit farms, factories, meet a bunch of people school kids would never meet. It really annoys me when people say homeschoolers have no social life when in fact most of us can carry on a real conversation. |
kyro298 Posted - Dec 01 2011 : 09:43:19 AM
Same here! LOL Have you read the Hunger Games series? Both my 12 (almost 13) year old son, my 16 1/2 year old daughter, my husband and I ALL loved them! I bet you would too! |
sjones5254 Posted - Dec 01 2011 : 09:40:45 AM
WOW i never would have thought you were 13 :) |
AshleyJ Posted - Dec 01 2011 : 09:39:13 AM
Can I just say that you may be the most well spoken 13 year old I have ever seen!?! You are very intelligent. Maybe when your mom is finished homeschooling you, you can home school my 7 year old! |
