Hi All, Today I found one of my 12 year old sugar gliders deceased. It must have happened while I was at work during the day. She and her sister were twins that were born in my home and I have cared for them for all 12 years of their lives. It was just the two of them for about 3 years since their brother was lost to a brain tumor. My now singleton is not friendly. She never has been, which always confused my family because her twin was cuddly and lovely but she was always different. She is not aggressive and is used to being held and used to interaction. She has never bitten me but she will crab up a storm when she’s in a fighting mood. I am not able to spend the time with her that will now be required since she doesn’t have a cage mate. She appears in good health and I will be taking her to her vet ASAP for a check up. My husband would not accept me keeping the now deceased glider in the fridge for a necropsy. I am asking if anyone can take her. She needs a dedicated home with the time to give her love and care. She has always been with other gliders, even large colonies. I can’t stand to see her alone and I don’t have the dedication to take on more furry lives. She is a standard grey glider that has never had joeys. She has had previous health issues that I can disclose to any rescue or kind soul that would be interested in helping her. She is not currently on any medications or receiving medical care. I am in the Tampa, FL area and anyone that takes her can of course have her 4’ft tall cage, bins of cage sets, and 2 large glider safe wheels and the frozen LGRS that I have in the freezer. I have owned gliders for over 14 years. I knew that I would eventually be left with one and I had planned to make arrangements but I stupidly thought I had more time. Her Name is Bella. Like Bellatrix Lestrange because of her warm personality.
