I now have both (new babies coming needing their own tent during quarantine).
Here they are set up side by side.
The play tent diameter is about the same as the Genji front to back so may be a better choice for a small space. The screen on the playtent is a square mesh fabric similar to regular window screen - gliders have not tried it yet so I can't say for sure how it will hold up. The Genji is a much finer material that I have found is getting fuzzy in some areas where my gliders like to hang out the most - not wearing through after 6 mos use but eventually might.
I do not take the genji down but I understand it can be tricky to fold back up and of course it takes 2 seconds to pop up.
The play tent is very easy to set up - insert 3 shock-cord poles and tuck them in the pockets at each end. Taking it down was also very easy. I do not think either setting up or taking it down took more than 5-10 minutes tops. I did not time it.
Both tents are roomy for glider play and have about equal head room for people.
