Strange question... but does anyone know if sugar glider urine glows under a black light? I'd like to buy one to see if I am missing any spots when cleaning my cages. I want to be as thorough as possible, but I won't waste my money if the urine isn't going to show up. Has anyone tried this before?

yes it should since regular urine does but i have not personally tried that and since humans and gliders are obviously different in many ways... the answer would have to be made from experience:)

I'm not certain Ive ever seen anyone ask this question before. You will have to try it, but Im not certain why you would want to. Your gliders are going to mark the cage all over again as soon as they wake up.

Sugar gliders love their own scent...its like perfume to them. We shouldnt clean the whole cage at one time and totally remove what they have worked so hard to do.

I alternate cleaning their cage....then a few days later change their cage set and a few days later, change out their toys.

No, not at all. I checked my cages with a strong black light and found that fresh puddles of urine are dark. Cage walls are dark. Some debris glows a little such as corn shells and whatnot.

I wonder if glowing urine could suggest a high phosphorus diet?

I did however find that the white tile floor under my cages shows all sorts of mischief that the naked eye does not get. Oh my... It looks like a lunar surface down there.

Hmm... I guess I probably won't have much luck with it then. I know that they love to remark everything, but I still like to clean up as much as I can so it doesn't build up and get super gross for them.
I guess I'll just continue to clean as I normally do. If I find anyone with a black light, I'll still try it just for the heck of it, though.

Thank you so much for all of your responses (especially Kazko who provided me with a pic)

Oh and Rita: I love that you compare suggie's urine to a perfume. I now have images of my gliders dabbing it behind their ears before a big date or something

No no no, the gliders dab their perfume behind YOUR ears before the date. And on your arms and shoulders and down the front and dropping poopies in your chest pocket and and and...
