Hello all! If you dont know already, my name is Alicia. Im just gunna put down some bullet points of my some what short life.

Full name: Alicia Marie Wojcik.
- 20 yrs old - mostly french and polish
- Born and raised in Connecticut with my brother who is 22
- Havent seen my mom for over 8 years, shes bi-polar/manic. She cheated on my dad when my brother and i were young. I dont remember most of this but my brother remembers a lot of it. My dad always wanted to help her get better, but she didnt want to. She was also an alcoholic and a drug addict. Just to give you guys a taste of how bad she was, she got into several very sever car accidents WITH my brother and I in the car when we were in car seats...she almost killed me when i was 1, she didnt feed me or hold me and my dad was at work trying to support all of us. The story goes on, but i dont know where she is (she could be dead for all i know) and i dont want to know where she is. I'm a better person because shes not in my life.
- Enough with the sad stuff - i have a great family and several mother figures who have stepped in and raised me. These women are my grandmother, my stepmother, and my 2 aunts. We are all very close because of this.
- Lived next to a farm when i was young, spent a lot of time there. I used to sit with the cows all day and steal baby chicks. The farmer would always chase me off his property because he thought i would get hurt...but of course i never did. I would also bring home sick feral barn cats and my dad would always freak out and make me put them back! Ive always loved animals, ive raised a few baby birds and let them go.
- I kind of struggled in school, i hate school honestly, and i never wanted to do my home work (and still dont). I had a lot of friends and i focused more on the social aspect of school.
- I'm an artist, its more of a hobby but i first went to college for art because it interested me the most, ive always been bad at math! I'm pretty good at art, i get it from my dad, i enjoy drawing animals and fantasy characters from video games. I decided to pursue a Animal Science career instead of art, because i figured there wasnt much i could do with an art major other than being an art teacher...and i dont really like kids that much.
- My dad is a grumpy full-time pharmacist and part-time hunter...and quite the hard ass. I grew up skinning deer and plucking pheasants. Never went hunting myself because i am an avid animal lover, but i do respect him for it. He hunts for food and not solely for sport. When he calls me at college all he wants to know is about grades, and i HATE talking about grades!!
- I work at a small animal lab on my campus, and NO we do not do terrible "testing" on our animals. My job is to make sure all of the animals are healthy and i pretty much clean up after them. We have everything from chickens to ferrets in the lab, and its actually quite interesting. The animals are used for education purposes such as animal training/enrichment classes and minor surgery.
- I have a boyfriend named Brandon, been with him for 2 years now. He is half puerto rican and half polish. My dad is quite the racist and would NOT meet him at first. But my stepmother pretty much made him meet Brandon...and he ended up liking him! I knew he would too..
- I look a lot like my real mother, almost a carbon copy they say. And ive lived with the doubts that i will be just like her...and my father gets angry at me easily b/c he thinks im her sometimes. I really want to prove that i will never be like that woman. I may look like her but that's NOT the woman i want to be.
- I'm a pretty big gamer. Also something my dad disapproves of, he thinks i should be focusing more on school....which is partly true. He used to turn off the internet at night when i was in High School, and i would sneak through the house to turn it back on! I grew up with my older brother, and i got the video gaming interests from him. And its just sticks, its who i am. My boyfriend is also quite the gamer so we have a lot in common when it comes to that. A lot of people say gamers don't have lives, but i assure you we do!!
- I also went to Ireland and England during the summer of my graduation from high school. It was a lot of fun and really eye opening for me. I would like to do more traveling.

And that is me in a nut-shell...didnt think id have that much to write: Here's a few pics as well.

There's my big brother, my dad, and me - senior prom 09'

And just me, with a friend from college:

<3 <3 You are not your mother. My mom compares me to my sisters all the time...I even sound like my one sister..but I am NOT them and I refuse to be anything like them. You are a wonderful woman, compassionate, stable...you are not her. Remember that. *hugs* <3 <3

I'm not a huge gamer, but my boyfriend and my best friend are. I LOVE watching them play games like Bioshock or Skyrim. I play Sims 3 and DS games myself. My best friend Brett is a big WOW geek. My nickname for him is actually Geeker (cus of him being a geek from playing games like wow, did NOT know it meant anything else until recently)

You are beautiful, super smart, and have everything going for you! You have so many good things coming your way, I can feel it

Exactly on what Tiff said :) with you being wonderful and compassionate!! You have the strength and courage to see the pain of her actions and also to overcome ever being like her. I've always been a huge gamer for the same reason, older brother. Getting Older sucks because I can't be much of one anymore, no time!

Well my dad always told me that my mom said the EXACT same thing! Her mom was just as bad as she is, or even worse. And she always told my dad that she wouldnt be like her...but guess what happened? I really dont think i will be, i havent shown any signs of manic/bi-polar disorder but supposedly it can creep up on you in your 20's. This is ind of why im scared to have kids..i dont want to give them the crazy genes and have psycho children...But thanks so much guys your words mean a lot :)

Totally agree with the above...and as you get older you will realize that sometimes the bad people in our lives are put their to teach us. My dad was an alcoholic as was my husbands...I have drug users littered throughout my family and I can tell you this...the same thing I tell my children.... they show us the person we don't want to be so we can make conscious decisions to NOT be that way.

In a way, I think it's a good thing... many people have to experience things to "know" how they affect us, and while they are experiencing it...they are ruining their lives and reaking havock in the lives of the ones that love them... my children see first hand what hard work gets you with our immediate family & they see what drugs & alcohol get you when they know my brother is heading off to rehab & jail for the umpteenth time...hopefully that is enough of a lesson to keep them away from those things & convince them all to work hard in life...and so far, they are on the right track!

So think of it as a blessing in disguise and don't let anyone tell you who you are!

Don't worry about the mother thing I look just like mine too. Enough that there are certain places I couldn't eat or shop at in her home town. She was not the most likeable person. The fact is if you are conscious of what she has done and what her issues were you can avoid them.

You are so pretty. :) The one thing your mom gave you is an example of how not to be. There's how I feel about my dad. We have the ability to choose to use our experiences however we want. You sound like you will be able to achieve whatever you want!
