So ever since I heard about Caramel gliders I've been doing some research.

Kai like I said before has weird fur. Not only that but she has white feet, a very large body, and caramel colors. Of course I don't know what kind of glider she is until her fur completely changes now that she is on HPW. But its just kind of weird how she has a lot of similar traits as Caramel sugar gliders.

I read that Caramel sugar gliders are larger than normal gliders, they usually have white feet, and their tails are very big and fluffy. They also of course have a caramel color. Well Kai has white feet, a big fluffy tail, caramel colors, and she is a lot bigger than my friends gliders. My friends gliders are a year old and Kai and Yoshi are two years old.

But then again I may be wrong. Maybe she just is super fluffy and i guess some gliders are larger than others. All though she isn't over weight she just seems to be naturally bigger. And she might just be caramel colored because of her stained coat. I don't know. I guess I'll have to wait until her HPW kicks in. But I got a picture of her and Yoshi's fur. And I found a picture of a younger Caramel glider.

Here is a Caramel glider.

This is Kai's back.

And this is Yoshi's back.

(Sorry my camera sucks, but I'll try to take a picture off of my other camera )
As you can see their fur is different. But maybe its just from a bad diet. :) In person Kai is a lot more caramel colored and Yoshi looks more stained, cracked, and patches of grey coming in. Kai has a little bit of cracked fur too. But she doesn't seem to have grey showing yet. Her fur texture seems more like the Caramel glider in the pic. And Yoshi's fur is a lot like my friends Standard Grey gliders. What do you think?

She isn't fat or over weight. But she seems like she has more muscle and a bigger build. She is bigger than Yoshi.

It is extremely unlikely you have a Caramel glider.

They haven't been in the country very long, and the people who own/breed them still have most of them. They haven't made their way too much into the "general population" yet.

Very carefully - and only to another unrelated caramel glider.

The few breeders that have the newly imported caramel gliders are being very careful breeding them. They have already found that breeding them with standard gliders can result in sterile gliders - gliders that genetically are not able to produce more gliders. That limits the breeding of the caramels to other caramel gliders. Since there numbers are few at the present time, there will not be a lot of caramel glider joeys available any time soon.

I doubt she is one. But in the picture that Omisnkaisgma linked Kai looks very simular. The only difference is Kai has darker eyes and her fur isn't completely done changing. She was a PPP baby from her previous owners. (I got her off of CL) But more than likely she probably isn't.

Also want to add you cannot use s&$ exotics as a reference for what they are supposed to look like bc she cross breeds her with normal gliders and is causing a big huge mess wfor those that are trying to keep the caramel lines pure.
