1 hour ago our male sugar glider did this poop on the table. We find it quite big and white colored. Next to it is a pen for size comparising. What is your opinion about this? We're a bit concerned as the male is also less active as the female but maybe it's his character, we don't know as we only have them for 4 days. We did give them 2 superworms (big mealies) each day (maybe the high fat gives them the color?). We give them a modified BML diet (plus insects and fruit/veggies) because the ingredients of the BML diet aren't for sale here. Other sugar glider owners in the Netherlands use the same diet with succes. But this wasn't the diet they were on in the pet store, they just gave them fruit, gecko nectar, lori food and grasshoppers. Can the diet change be a reason for poop discoloration?

This is our first post, we bought our sugar gliders (1 male and 1 female) last week from a pet store in The Netherlands (where we live). The bonding is going really fast from being really scared the first day to walking on us this evening for the first time.

Please give your thoughts on the picture. Thanks in advance.

Mine will have that whitish look when I give them the vanilla (white) yogurt drops. Have you given them anything like that?

Changing the diet can certainly cause changes in stool, even a week out. Their bodies may still be adjusting to the new program. It doesn't look concerning to me, you will be amazed at how much their feces can change color with the foods that they eat (if you ever feed watermelon, the droppings will be red, don't panic!). If it begins to be more watery or mucousy, you may want to have it checked out.

Could be the diet change. Could be the superworms high fat content. Keep an eye on it. Maybe you should go ahead and get a fecal.

Thanks for your replies. We tried yoghurt but they don't like it. I will try to see what his next poop looks like.
