Black Beauty's are a color variation of the Standard gray gliders.
This is from the glider nursery site in quotes...

"Black Beauty: The stripe is typically very black, may have dark rings around the eyes, referred to as "eye liner". They exhibit black knuckles, black bars from the ears to the eyes, will exhibit a chin strap, and has a dark undertone of the fur on the belly. Some breeders have successfully bred for the black beauty characteristic, but it does appear to be somewhat random."

thank you very much i am in love <3 .....yes thats the same description i read and he seems to meet all of the criteria but as everyone says they are rare so i cant seem to find anyone to give me a definite answer

One of my females has "Black Beauty traits" per her lineage and what the breeder has stated on her records and I have another girl that I believe IS a BB but there is not any lineage on her to know what lines produced that.

They both have the very dark coloring...the dark face markings, chin straps, and dark knuckles.

Pixie my "BB" has the very dark markings,almost as dark as your guy, but I have read that the gray underbelly is the difference between my girl who is a BB that has the gray underbelly and my girl with "BB traits" Bijou,(she has a creamy white belly).

I hope this makes sense...I just confused my self.

i do not have any recent ones of side view as he is my problem child so pics of him are difficult. i will try in a little bit to get current ones but these are from when he was 3 weeks old. but duke a hazard both have the chin strap that go all the way under their chins and touch in the middle.

He looks like a BB for certain, that, or the picture is just dark and the gorgeous mosaic next to him is making him look even darker in comparison. Beautiful babies, you've got quite a pair

Black/dark face black beauties are very rare. The breeder I got my two from breeds for them, this is her male Raven . I'm not sure what the difference is between regular black beauties and the dark faces, besides one being much much darker than the other. I thought dark faces had to have the area between their nose and eyes blackened in, like yours does, but I also see regular black beauties with that trait as well.

Looking at the lineage - Raven is related to Elvis - a Suncoast glider that is about as close to black as anyone has seen in a glider. He has produced some very dark glider offspring as well.
