Several people swore to me these little spots above her eyes are from over grooming.

Nugget's previous owner says they've always been there as long as she had her (she's a great glider momma who couldn't get Nugget safely introduced into her colony. She rescued Nugget from someone who got her from Pocket Pets so I'm her third owner)

I've had dear Nugget since June 23, 2014

She's on HPW, she went from being a single glider longing to be with someone of her own kind to becoming a cage mate with my very first girl Chipi

She has a floor to ceiling cage, plenty of wheels and toys, and overall seems happy any healthy

As far as we know Nugget has always had these spots on her head. They've not changed in the 5.5 months I've had her.

Is it really from her over grooming?
Is it perhaps having had over groomed in the past?
Or is it just how she is?

It is in the right spots, but doesn't look like over grooming to me.

This is Simon, he began over grooming at the rescue just before we got him.

This was taken a couple weeks after we got him. Two patches turned into one large patch. Then he started 2 new patches above his eyes where the patches seem to be on yours.

This is his regrowth after a few Rogaine treatments lol jus kidding. About 3 weeks of regrowth, his hair matches the rest of him. Maybe a little greyer as he still has some brown on the rest of his fur but the texture is the same.

So my guess is yours is not over grooming! maybe a skin condition or something genetic??

@fairygirl that's my guess too! I literally called them cowlicks but then people swore to me it was overgrooming

I don't think it looks anything like photos of other gliders who have over groomed

@Leela thanks for the info! I'm glad your rescue is doing better!
I was wondering how it could even be overgrooming if the spots have been there most of her life and have not changed shape or size even though she'd been through so much change, especially the good kind if change.

I hope it's just something genetic, I think as long as she's healthy and happy the little spots give her character

Ty :) he is doing great now n had his first big glide the other night!

Yeh, those spots just don't look like over grooming to me. I wonder though if she may have had injuries or scratches that scarred her skin making her hair grow differently? That's the only other thing I can think of.

It does give her character lol n I would just tell those other people That's where her horns used to be but they fell off (Reminds me of hellboy grinding off his horns)

If she's always had it I wouldn't worry to much she looks pretty happy and healthy to me

Doesn't look like over grooming to me. Zoey over groomed when I took her in. She stopped a day or so after I got her.

Here are a couple of pics of her.
The first is pretty blurry. Nearly bald on top, stripe is still thick but gray is almost gone!
The next is about 3 weeks later and almost all grown back, still missing a spot and thin on top.
The last is from Friday October 24th, 2014 All better!
