When deciding to provide vitamin supplements for your sugar glider, there could easily be the possibility of
hypervitaminosis which is a cause of many things including liver failure.
Page 298 of The Complete Guide to the Care of Macropods By Lynda Staker is an interesting read discussing how supplementing Vitamin D is bad for Macropods and probably all nocturnal marsupials in general. Too much vitamin D in marsupials will suck the calcium out of the bones causing the same result that supplementing is intended to prevent.
Wallaby/Roo kibble has an extremely low vitamin D content because of this research. They also boost VitE and Selenium to help prevent
white muscle disease which could present somewhat similar to hind leg paralysis.
