Weight is an important indicator of health in gliders. Keeping track of a glider's weight is one of the easiest ways to note any health concerns. If you know the average weight of the glider you will be able to better discern when they have had a drastic change in weight, which is one of the most frequent signs of declining health.
The average weight range of gliders 12 months and older is:
Males: 90g - 140g
Females: 80g - 130g
The average weight for joeys age 8 weeks - 9 months according to TSS:
Males: Approximately 82g
Females: Approximately 70g
There maybe a number of factors causing weight gain or weight lost, if a drastic change is noticed please visit an exotic
veterinarian.
