I HAVENT HELD MY GLIDER IN 3 MONTHS

My daughter has not held her joey in 3 months. Now she is frighten that he will bite her if she tries to pick her up. When she puts a piece of her clothes in his pouch he does calm down. She also does feed him and wear him around the house in a pouch. Any bonding suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also use the scoop method, it scares them less, I put both hands around them and try to scoop them up, they seem to be less likely to bite as they think they can climb out of my scoop, but if they are fast, I go fast and before they know it they are to far away to get back to cage. she will have to give something a try, see if the glider bites. new gliders bite hard, not new gliders can bite softer or just a nip with no blood just a hard pinch. then later it turns into a soft nip if they dont like something, a well bonded glider will not bite. our gus and sophie do not bite, we can pick up no problems, it just takes time.

I don't pick up MOST of our gliders, I let them get on me!! I put a treat in front of them, put my arm/hand in between glider and treat. they have to step on my hand to get the treat. later they have to put to feet on my arm, weeks later they have to put 4 feet on my arm to reach the treat (dried mealworms) $5 at walmart bird food section, soon they are getting on my arm no problems, they are happy to climb on to get their treats.
