Does touching a sugar outside of its pouch scare it?

My sugar gliders crab when I touch them outside of the pouch. Is this because they don't know what is touching them or are they pouch protective? (I am not fully bonded with them yet.) Also what is an easy way to bond with them?[size=5]

unbonded gliders are scared when you touch their pouch and so they crab. Pouch protective is different. there is NO easy way to bond, depending on the glider it can take a long time and a lot of patience and work. you are a very large scary thing, while the glider is a tiny scared critter thinking you want to eat him. use as many ways as you can, bonding pouch, tent, treats etc.
