Bonding

 Bonding

I'm a new sugar glider mom. She's a 2 yr old named Sugar. We saved her from being sent to the pound. We haven't had her but a few days. She won't come to me, crabs at me & keeps hiding behind her wheel. I tried picking her up but she bit me.
So worried!

Another post recommends a mix of chicken baby food and strained carrots as a to get dip. This is to allow your new gal a chance to learn that you are not a threat. Just mix up a batch and dip a finger get in it. Then offer your finger up for a treat. Good luck.

Thank you!I haven't taken her out yet. She won't let me hold her. She's biting a lot.

Don't worry. I have 4 gliders and they have each taken anywhere from months to a few weeks to start bonding. If she was getting ready to be sent to the pound, it's hard telling what type of attention she had before. She's just very scared. Give her lots of treats and use a bonding pouch every day.
