 DIY cage questions

Hi there everyone!! Im getting a pair of male Sugar Gliders next week and im preparing their cage now! Im makes a 21w 42l 50h cage for them. I am making it from untreated wood heres the link to the wood i bought, www.homedepot.com/p/2-in-x-3-in-x-8-ft-Pet-96-in-SPF-Kiln-Dried-HT-2-PREM-PW-Untreated-Lumber-77700043/300714413 and im putting a polyurethane coating over it so it wont soak up the pee and smell gross. This is what im using to coat the wood, m.lowes.com/pd/Minwax-Polycrylic-8-fl-oz-Satin-Water-based-Polyurethane/999914423?cm_mmc=SCE_PLA-_-Paint-_-InteriorStains-_-999914423:Minwax&CAWELAID=&kpid=999914423&CAGPSPN=pla&store_code=265&k_clickID=2c2480f0-9bc0-4ac0-94db-d7bedb12a08e&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr63NktHH3QIVgiZpCh1I6AFBEAQYAiABEgLzCfD_BwE im not sure if this is safe for Gliders or not i saw a few recommendations for this stuff for glider cages but im still wary. And finally the mesh im using www.homedepot.com/p/Tenax-3-ft-x-25-ft-Black-Poultry-Hex-Fence-206866/100384028?MERCH=REC-_-irg_aic-2-_-100384025-_-100384028-_-N I couldn’t find anything with smallers holes what are your thoughts on this mesh?? Any other recommendations?

if it's fully dried and washed out, it should not realise toxins, the main problem is if they are chewers they may ingest it

I actually went out and got the square mesh everyone uses in their cages i was to worried they would get theough the hexagon mesh. Its a hard compress wood i got from home depot their website doesn’t say what type of wood it is or when i was in store ? I did use 4 coats of polyurethane on the wood so it wont soak pee up so I wonder if it would release any toxins with the coatig?

What type of wood is it? Some woods such as oak are toxic to gliders. I'm not familiar with such mesh, I only use squared mesh not wide than 1/2 in. with .75 I'd be afraid they try to force their way through it and get stuck, but I'm sure others with more experience of this kind of material can advise you better
