 Mommies day off

Posted by: Emily Holcombe
-----
So today was one of my day's off. Bubbie of course has to be in my pocket. We cleaned the house first. Then went and done laundry. After laundry, we went and hung out at another bar that I do not work in. He got to see a lot of people he knows. The bartender of course gave him his cherry. As long as I'm within sight, he goes from person to person to say hi and give kisses. We do this once a week. We are home before dark. Socializing your suggie is important. Especially when you don't want them biting anyone. Bubbie bites nobody. Just a tip.

 Cook celery or raw celery

Posted by: Melomaniac

I want to try giving my little babies some celery because it seems like a lot of people give them to their little suggies, but my question is do you guys give it to them raw or cook it? I have also thought about making a sort of pudding like substance with all their fruits in vegetables in it. So like using baby food and just chopping up all the veggies in a food processor. I don’t know. has anyone done that before, and if so what would you suggest using for the substance because I don’t even know if they can have baby food.

 Missing Nails!!!!

So my lil guy’s nails seem to be falling off... they’re not being ripped off they look as though there are smaller not fully formed nails under his longer harder nails. He’s been sleeping a whole bunch and licking and biting the hang nails off. I’ve been watching out for SM but he seems to be doing well so far. I noticed it last night and I was gone for one night before that and he was fine and when I came back he was like this. I’m not sure what it is and I called the vet which said to watch out for infection o have betadine but he won’t let me put it on him, nor neosporin. Has anyone experienced this?! I’m slightly freaking out

 Bubbie goes to work

Being the assistant manager of 5 bars means I often have to go deal with things on my days off. I have to go wait on a vendor shortly. Bubbie of course will go with me. Bartenders and customers know him very well and always enjoy seeing him. There are a few he will actually leave me to go say hi to. He always comes back to me when I tell him bye bye. I started socializing him at about 9weeks old. I didn't want him being scared of the different places and people that have to go and deal with. He has never bitten anyone. He's only bit me twice. I don't have to force him in my pocket to go anywhere. He enjoys going out with mommy. He even gets out of my pocket in the Jeep and gets behind me on the headrest to look around. When we get to where we are going, he gets right back in my pocket with no problem. I don't have to worry about losing him anywhere. He even goes to the beach with me. He likes smelling the air. I enjoy taking him with me when I can. I spend as much time as I can either at home or wherever I need to go.

 My little pocket baby

I'm on my 3 days off. As usual, bubbie is in my shirt pocket asleep(at the moment). We had some errands to run today and it's funny to see the looks from people when he decides to poke his head out. I enjoy spending my days and nights off with him. He's my baby and a big part of my world.

 First time mom of joeys

I bought my Bella last March for my birthday. Talking with my friend that I bought her from she was not very well taken care of. She rescued her from her friend that did not take very good care of her and her cage mate (which he passed away). All the girl did was feed them watermelon. She lost her first set of Joeys. They both were premature and one was hand fed and only survived for 5 days. This broke my heart so I bought her, She is still rough around the edges but she is very sweet and loving to me. I bought her a cage mate, his name is Jackson. He is a loving little guy, Well now she has had two healthy and beautiful twin boys. They are now 11 days OOP and I am so INLOVE with them!! They are the sweetest little Suggies! I will post pics as soon as I can. Any information will be greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance!

Is crape jasmine safe for sugar gliders?!? NEED HELP cuz my baby stuffed it her mouth

Hi I would reeeeally be grateful if I could know if crape jasmine is harmful to my baby. She was in the garden, took a whiff of the jasmine plant and just tore a piece of a petal and stuffed it in her mouth. I do not know whether it is toxic or not. I tried to pull it from her mouth but alas. I know I shouldn't have brought her there if I wasnt sure im stupid but now I need to know for sure whether its safe 100%. Thanks all.

 New girls!

Hey guys! I got two girls from a friend a few weeks ago because he could no longer care for them. They’re named crackers (11) and barbie (12). So they’re getting older, but i love them so much. The smell is not great and I’m curious if any of you have tips for a diet to help with the diet? I’m not sure where to start, but I think they’re doing good right now with the diet they have.

 Glider Joey Help???

Posted by: Cowboysangels19
-----
So my white face, Magnum now has twins oop as of 2 days ago. They’re both adorable and they were fully developed, all five little fingers and toes. And then I woke up this morning to find that one has his left back toes chewed off and the other has half of her tail missing.... I had a case of this with my other female awhile ago, but the joey survived with his 3 feet. I just don’t know what to do. I took them all to the vet yesterday for a check up and they told me that the joeys and the mother were in good condition and all were healthy. My gliders are all on the BML diet. I just feel so lost... :/ Should I remove the joeys and hand raise them to avoid canablism? But they’re still clinging to her to nurse. Or should I remove the father, Glock, from the cage? But I think that would cause her to become too stressed with him missing. Gaaaa! Help...?

 I’m stressing out!!!!

Guys, I went on a getaway with my boyfriend leaving my sweet Izzy with my mom for the first time since I’ve had her. She’s very familiar with my mom. Well my mom just called to tell me how she was but she says “oh. She comes right to me with pellets in my hand” well the funny thing is, it hasn’t been pellets at all because she will only go to strangers with treats. ITS BEEN YOGIS. She has been putting 15-20 yogis in her food bowl since I’ve been gone and no pellets at all. I sent her a picture of the bowl with all of her food to refer too and also wrote down step my step instructions and the name of things and she still didn’t get it right. Izzy has been eating these yogis for 2 nights. I’m scared she is going to be thrown off of her eating habits when I put her back on the pellets tomorrow night. Should i be worried or will she be okay?

 New Sugar Gliders, Bonding help

Posted by: TheDistinctiveDog
-----
Hi there everyone I just picked up my first Sugar Gliders this past Friday, a male and female with a female joey that is roughly 4-5 week oop?? The female (Petra) is curious of me and has hopped on me a few times for treats and lets me pet her in their pouch, the male (Arwyn) is a little more skittish he takes treats from me and has hopped on me twice but i think more to escape back to the cage ( this happens when i pull their pouch out of the cage) and he will let me pet him in the pouch. The joey is terrified of me, understandably I dont push it with her she has come out of the pouch once that ive seen closely following mom but as soon as she saw me she went back in her pouch. I tried the bonding pouch out yesterday with all three inside during the day while i was watching tv. They seemed to do fine. Its only day three so im pretty pleased with the progress we have made together, the adults have never crabbed at me since i brough them home not once and no bites only the joey crabs, so i think ive lucked out with them as far as friendliness but they are still skittish is there anything I can do to make them trust me more or just keep doing what ive been doing? Ive been feeding them around 8pm at night and will give them a few yogurt drops then leave them alone so they will come out and eat, i will go back around 9 and leave the cage door open they haven’t explored outside if the cage yet i just like to leave it open in case they want to but they usually go back in their pouch after getting a few yogurt drops and wait for me to leave to come back out. I usually pop in 3-5 times for 10-15 min until midnight when i go to bed and give them treats and once they go hide i leave them alone. I worry if i dont handle the joey that she wont come around and not be used to being held but i also dont want to push her and make her not trust me and fear me more. Any advice or criticism is wanted to please let me know what you all think!
