 Bonding?

Hey everyone!
I'm a relatively new mama, I got my first sugar glider back in July when she was about 8 months old. I try and spend as much time with her but I'm not sure how to bond with her. She doesn't like being held much, but I let her run around my room at night while I lay in bed. These past couple of nights she's been checking me out more and when I go to the floor shell run around and kinda stick with me for awhile. She's also been kind of obsessed with licking my feet?? I don't know. Is this signs of her bonding to me? This is the most affection I get. Also, how else can I bond with her?

 Biting?

So I had purchased 2 sugar gliders, a male and a female, from a Breeder on December 19th. The Breeder said they were 2 months out of pouch, however my sister had bought a little boy from a different Breeder about a month before I bought mine and he is A LOT smaller. So my sister figured that the Breeder lied to me and gave me older or adult gliders. I had asked for a male and a female from separate litters since I eventually want to try to breed. (I've bred many different kinds of small animals before)
Anyways, I took my gliders out of their cage after I got home today to try to bond with them some more. I've spent as much time as possible with them since I got them despite my fiancés scolding that I give them too much "roaming time" since the Breeder advised to handle the gliders one by one in a small enclosed room, like a bathroom and no more than a few hours per "bonding session". Ive heard from friends who own gliders and since this is not the first glider my sister has owned, I took their advice of keeping the gliders with me in different rooms so they get more use to my scent and learn to trust me. I've handled them separately and together, since I want a relationship with them and want to be able to handle them together.
My male glider at first was being very sweet and let me pet him and seemed like he was going to fall asleep on my arm like usual. Later he decided to climb up my arm and sit on my shoulder and licked my neck for 15 minutes. It was the first time he's ever licked me, so I had no idea what I should do other than watch him carefully. Awhile after he finished licking and climbing around, he decided to jump off of my arm and onto my bed, I proceeded to lay my hand in front of him like normal to retrieve him, and after walking into my hand, he bit me. I know that the initial reaction to jerk my hand away is not the right thing to do with gliders and that they do nip occasionally, so I ignored it. Shortly after the first bite, he bit again and a lot harder, not letting go but not drawing blood either. I just held him until he let go, but then he bit me again and drew blood on a different finger. I've never been bitten my him since I've got him. I tried to think that maybe he was hungry and my fingers smelled like the fruit I had just cut for them or maybe he mistook my finger for a snake. (something the Breeder said they think our hands are and why you should not point at them or do any quick moments to them) Maybe I put my hand down too quick or maybe the light was bothering his eyes, so I went into a different room with dimmed lights.
He kept trying to jump away and I repeatedly put my hand in front of him and he would keep biting. Thinking he may have been trying to look for the girl which my mother was holding at the time while my female glider slept in her shirt, I had taken the female and put her with him on my arm. She climbed onto his back and what seemed like, trying to calm him down. He kept repeatedly biting my fingers, and getting frustrated with all the biting, I decided to put them back in their cage.
I'm used to the female nipping occasionally, not the male and even when they sleep, she is the one who gets defensive and barks at me until I put my hand down and she sniffs me.
Since the male isn't neutered, could that be why he kept biting and jumping away? I know when they get scared, they put out a scent similar to a skunk, but he didn't put out any scent. Any suggestions would help because I am clueless to why he has started biting now and why he was biting so hard.

 Daisy Needs Her Nails done

Posted by: Dasiy-Cozy-And-Rosie

So Daisy has really long nails and gets caught on everything and we need a simple way to trim her nails. She doesn't go on her wheel because before we got her, the owner told us she had gotten her tail stuck in the wheel so she doesn't use it anymore. P.S. we also tried to trim her nails with nail clippers but that didn't work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm not sure how to post a question or whatever because I'm new to this but here I go.

This Friday when I came home from work I found one of my babies, Khaleesi, had chewed a hole in yet another one of their pouches, and unfortunately got stuck. She had passed, and it was just awful to come home to. I thought you were supposed to use fleece for the exact reason of them not getting twisted up in strands of fabric, but luck hasn't been on my side lately. Needless to say I'm throwing out my remaining bedtime pouches to be replaced with a nesting box.

My question is, will my other two be okay? All other forums I have read are in regards to having 2 and one dies, but I still have my Casanova and Skye. Will they not feel the effects of grief as badly because they still have eachother? Will they feel it at all? Nova seems to be frantic, his ears are always perked and he jumps around a lot, and Skye seems pretty sullen. His eyes look sad and he tries to curl himself up as much as he can. I just want to know what to look for, if there might be different signs in regards to them still having eachother.

How can I appropriately bathe my sugar glider? Please help! new mom in need of nail cutting and bathing advice.

Hello all! I have just adopted an 11 month old male sugar glider and have a few questions as to cleanliness and such. His old owners, to say the least, did not take good care of him at all. His cage was completely caked in dried feces and had paper towels that had fused themselves to the cage with urine and leftover food. My poor baby smells like his urine and has dried food an fecal matter all over him. I cleaned his cage from top to bottom yesterday and noticed that he smelled exceptionally awful. I did a lot of research before I purchased him and one of the things that stood out to me was the fact that they don't have a completely overpowering smell. My guess is that his owners did not feed him a healthy diet and allowed him to wallow in his urine. I really need to bathe him in some way, but for now I have him on the BML diet and am working on keeping a clean and healthy environment for him to have. His former owners never cut his nails, so I have gashes all up an down my arms and even on my neck. What are the most effective ways you guys would recommend me to cut his nails? Back to the bathing matter... I have seen some people on youtube just dunking their babies in water, but I would never do that. That seems like that would shock them to no end. I have read other people telling me that I can bathe him with a warm washcloth and baby shampoo, and then I've read that I should bathe them at all but rub them down with a baby wipe. Please help! I want to do what's best for my little baby and make him clean and healthy!

 HELP!?!?

Hi there, I was wondering if I could get some advice. I have a sugar glider named lily that I bought (from a bad breeder) to be a partner for my other neutered sugar glider milo (from a good breeder) lily was to young when I got her and began self mutilating. I brought her to the vet and she improved dramatically but she is extremely aggressive unlike milo who was a cuddle bug, but her and milo were good buddies. Sadly milo died from a seizure very suddenly and couldn't be revived by the vet. I knew sugar gliders need to be in pairs so I quickly found her a new partner Casper(from a breeder I thought was good) Casper was sick when I got him and I immediately brought him to the vet who prescribed antibiotics, but said I could introduce him and lily. Casper was a very sweet glider and loved lily very much but his condition got worse and he sadly passed only months after me getting him. I feel absolutely terrible about losing to pets that I love and lily having to experience loss like this. I fed them all the same thing (hpw, fruit/vegetables, monkey biscuits, and pelleted food) and they all had tent time as well. Now I'm not sure if I should get another sugar glider to be Lily's partner of if I should not, she is very aggressive towards me and I want her to be as happy and as comfortable as possible and I don't think I can deal with seeing another sugar glider suffer.
