Tammy-
Playtime, as far as single gliders go, is pretty important to their emotional well-being , and plus it helps them excercise and keep their alertness . It's OK to wake Zippie up early so you two can play together- I wake my glider, Gwenny, up at about 8:00 every night ( or try to at least) .
But getting him a playmate might also be a good idea.
