I talked with a pet store owner who is very educated in the California laws as far as pet ownership goes. He said that it is illegal, just as ferrets and hedgehogs are, but each year the law to get them legal is tried to pass. He said that as long as you keep them fairly out of sight and not call too much attention to yourself, then you are ok. Just like people take their ferrets out all the time, the same applies. Some predictions: I would say it if a far chance that anyone semi-smart would get caught with their glider. As long as you don't falunt it, then you should be ok. Also, I am betting, with the popularity that is arising, the law will be passed shortly to allow gliders in our state. My thoughts... : If you have gliders in a illegal state, you NEVER take your gliders out. whether this tops your enjoyment I am unsure but it is a fact of life. Here in MA I am nervous enough and nobody actively searches. I believe taht is not the case in CA as gliders could probably survive outside there making them a real "hazard" as far as the Wildlfe people consider.
