Hi,
I'm not sure what the correct answer is, but I always assumed that they needed something to drink every now and then, so I carry around a little jar of pear baby food or fruit nectar. I wake mine up periodically and sometimes she is crabby at first, but after she smells the nectar or baby food, she happily licks it off my finger. I do this until she curls up to go back to sleep.
