Kurt, It takes Time & patience to get a glider to trust you enough to come to you and want to cuddle and play. I have had my male glider for 1 year and 6 months, He will meet me at his cage door every morning ready to come out for his crickets and playtime, But, I can tell you that when I first brought him home he did not want to cuddle or play at all. It only took him three days to bond with me. After three days of hand feeding him grapes, crickets, mealworms and letting him lick yogurt off of my finger I won him over. If you use yogurt for bonding be sure you use lowfat with live active cultures. I use dannon banana strawberry and also, cherry. Also using the two shirt method worked well for me, Put on a t-shirt tucked in and then a button up shirt over that tucked in and let your glider between the shirts so it can get used to your scent, talk to it often and hand it yummy treats and I bet you will be the best of friends in no time. I just bought a female and I have had her for 3 weeks and she is just starting to trust me enough to come out from my shirt to check me out, she is taking longer to bond with than my first. All gliders are different, some you can bond with in a few days and some might take months, I think that it depends on how much they were handled by the breeders when they first come OOP . Here is a great sight for Info. on bonding & Good Luck with your little one! http://www.angelfire.com/nb/sugarglider
