Many thanks go out to Thomas, Boubon,Ceri, and Jo-----for your imput and advice. Not sure how to contain this problem yet-----but I do know that we do want Toolah and Quantas to have more gliderlings for Niblet(he'll stay as ours----others may go up for sale to good glider-respectful homes---where the owners have done their research, and are knowledgable re----glider commitment.)
Will keep you updated as to the outcome of glider-life.
Thanks again!!!!!!!vienna
: Our male glider is constantly attempting to mate with the female-----sometimes she gets 'crabby' and shoos him away, but more often than not---I see them copulating.....
: She just had one joey oop at the end of March, he's on solid food---we think she sped up the weaning process b'cos their may be another joey in her pouch. We have no intention of neutering, or moving the male to another cage---after all they are social creatures, and I don't think it would be fair to remove him from his family... But from what I have read they say the maximum amount of 'pairings' per year-----should be limited to between 2&3----Is this correct?
: Wouldn't having joeys too often, one after another shorten her life span......Wouldn't it tax her body and stress her out too much.....Any information regarding this question would be helpful....Thanking you in advance....Vienna
