You could try a small room at first. Some suggest getting a good book and sit in the bathroom, Lid closed of course. Welet one pair of ours out in the living room. And the other pair in the bedroom. Rom and Juliet stay low to the floor and have a couple favorite chairs they like to play in. They can always tell when someone else sits in it. Romeo has to rescent the whole thing. Cleo and Caesar like to climb. The climb the curtains. We usually close the doors to all the rooms when we let them out. Also, we stuff cloths under them because there is enough space for the gliders to slip under. We are always keeping a close eye on them.

Hope this helps....

: : i have had my two gliders for about a year or so. after the many hours of research i have done i have heard that others let there sg's run freely in their houses.

: : i myself am scared to let my babies to run free because of fear that they may find a hole to get in or something to chew on ect....

: : what would be a good way to gradually give them more freedom.

: : please give me and overview of your normal procedure or schedule

: : thanks kat

: The safest way is to thoroughly glider-proof one room of your house, preferably the room

: their cage is in and let them run free in there. It's not a good idea to let them have total

: freedom in your whole house because there are way too many dangers that can be

: overlooked. The most dangerous place is the kitchen, its extremely hard to glider-proof

: because of the appliances. They can easily crawl up into the stove or behind the

: refrigerator not to mention get in the trash or garbage disposal.

: To glider-proof the one room you have chosen, you will need to check for any possible

: dangers. I have a list of some of the dangers you should look for here: http://www.angelfire.com/tx/facehugger/safety.aspl

: When you make absolutely sure there is nothing that could harm your glider, you can allow

: them to play there at night. You should supervise them very closely at first to make sure

: there is not some danger you overlooked. Gliders will surprise you sometimes, I thought I

: had their room glider-proofed several times but they still find ways to get into trouble.
