I just adopted Pele- a female glider around 1 year old.. (so cute!) I was going to buy a baby, but I got so attached to her I just couldn't help but get her. :) The only real thing I have found that is irritating, is that her former owner didn't know anything about gliders and kept her for a year... she hasn't ever been put in a pouch or pocket. I am fully ready and determined and patient to teach her, I want to fully bond with her, and I don't mind how long it takes...but I don't know how to pouch-train her for starters. I have been wearing a big t-shirt with a pocket in it (trying to get my scent on it) but I don't know what to do to teach her that it is a place where she can go. Should I hang it up in her cage somehow so that she can explore it, THEN take out her nesting box? (To give her time to discover the pocket and explore it on her own first). All of the bonding pages I have read discuss putting your baby glider in your pocket or pouch and different methods of doing that..but what about an older glider that hasn't been pouch trained?:) Where do you start?:) Thanks everyone who replies to this- I want to figure this out as much as possible before trying to implement it.:) Thanks! Mandy & Pele
