"What have I accomplished?", and "What do I want to accomplish?", you asked.

First, what I have accomplished. I know my glider recognizes my scent and I guess my face. She'll definitely jump on my hand when there is a mealworm in it. Sometime she'll jump on my hand thinking that there's a mealworm when there isn't. Is that bad to trick her like that? Oh, bye the way some corrections about my glider. She doesn't like the whole pocket idea, but she'll comfortably stay in between my shirts. She fusses alot when she is in my pocket. I think that she feels like she is cornered with only one way out, where as when in between my shirt she can move in any direction. Another accomplishment is that I can coax her to sleep in my hand. Next, when she jumps to another person, she'll stay on them for about a minute, then jump right back. Some times I think she jumps back only because I'm taller than all of my Asian friends, me being 6'3" and all. She'll stay on me when going out of my bedroom(my bedroom being where she is allowed out of cage time to explore), but when she is in my bedroom she would rather do alot of exploring and seldom checks back on me. She goes to restaurants, laundrymats, and grocery store with me. She rides on my shoulder when going out. Sometimes she'll get on the head rest but she'll jump right back on my shoulder. Yes, I think I have come a very lond way since Feb. 28 when I got her.

Second, what I want to accomplish? I want her to lose her cautiousness and nervousness about anything moving, whether if she can see it or not. For instance, she'll crab at anything that moves on the outside of my shirt while being in between them. This is one of the main reason why I decided that she doesn't like the pocket idea. I also want to gain her full trust, where she doesn't flinch when my hand moves toward to pet her. I think gaining her full trust will allow her whole spectrum of personality to shine. Finally, what I want accomplished most is to have a glider that want interaction with me for more social reason rather than for treats. Meaning that she'll happily jump on my hand without looking for a mealworm, but just to be on me. I always keep in mind that I don't want my glider to be "just another interesting exotic pet".

Thanks for the comments everyone.

: Xay,

: I have an American Express glider. She goes EVERYWHERE with me and unlike some people, I spend ALOT of time with mine. mine spend about 5 hours in their cage but they love to come out and play.. they are creatures of habit so whatever you do make sure you do the same thing for bonding, if you want it to be a pocket pet for the next 8 years go for it but it is very important that the glider associates your person with nothing but plesantries.. Meal worms are good, so are live bugs feed him while he is in your pocket be sure that he sees you often and pet him often through your pocket. You say the bonding process is going slow but what have you accomplished so far. what is it you wish to accomplish? you already have it to the point it stays asleep in your pocket. so progress is already been made.. I remeber reading your posts when you first got him and you have already made great strides..but spend alot of time 1 on 1 in the evening as well as the day..
