Well, it seems like you are doing all of the right things. I am just as much a worry wart as you. For the first 3 or 4 weeks of Motherhood, I was convinced that Milo and Gizmo were not going to bond to me and that they did not like me. There were good days and bad days, glimpses of hope...taken away. But guess what, I did all that worrying for, as my fiancee would say, nothing! It really isn't "nothing" to me though, I have some powerful motherly instincts that cannot be controlled. It is these same instincts that give women that "6th sense", and when we are tuned into that sense, it really does guide us. You are experiencing "the fear of not being a good Mother", and that fear in itself is proof of what a wonderful Mother you really are! Good luck, : : Hi Mandy (and Goddess), : : Maybe the introduction of the pouch has caused a little stress in her. There is a completly new scent that she has to get used to. Did you keep her other nest in there? : ~~yes...she uses her nestbox as a bathroom now..she sits on her perch and let's it all fall into the open ceiling of the nest box...then she dives into her pouch and falls asleep again...lol. I didn't take the nestbox out, while she was running around I took the pouch I had been wearing for 2 1/2 days (inside my bra) and pinned it inside the cage..she immediately ran over to my hand and smelled everything..she held onto the pouch as I was putting it in..then got mad at my scent and ran about.. I thought it was the pouch, so I left the room to let her explore it in privacy..when I came back she was in the pouch..I tried to give her food...and she smelled me and crabbed and acted skittish..how awkward... she didn't even eat her food last night, she spent the entire time in her new pouch! : : When you asked her about her possible schizofrenia, what did she say? Does she talk to herself?? LOL : ~~LOL, I wish I did know what she is thinking:) Is there a such thing as a bipolar Sugar Glider?:) : : Different scents on your hands can be quite offending to the glider. Has she cut down on the biting? : ~~Yes she has...she has always been a sweety, and she used to bite VERY HARD when she would..but anything lately has just been little nips, like she opens her mouth and catches herself in the act:) : : Your little volcano Goddess realy is doing great. She is making a lot of progress in a short amount of time, you are doing a fantastic job. : Really?? I am always worried that I am doing wrong...it is so hard having an SG that was neglected/abused because every time you do anything that confuses them..it sets you back 2 days or so...I have heard nothing but success stories and that is very encouraging...but it is so hard to know when you should or shouldn't take it to the next step..and because of her past, which next step you should taking it to...? Instead of going from one step to the other it is like you take it to the step inbetween so 2 steps become 4 steps and each step is longer than average.. : Good luck in everything and thank you so much for your response:) Any feedback is appreciated:)
