Hi there,

Your little Joey needs lots of attention. You have the perfect opportunity to handle him and start bonding while the parents are doing their own thing. Pick him up and cup him in the palm of your hand, let him familiarize himself with your scent. Are you bonded with the parents (so they don't reject him with your scent on him)? Keep a close eye on him to make sure momma is feeding him. Candi is hand feeding (puppy milk formula) one of her rejected joeys every couple of hours. Your baby joey is probably all three of the things you mentioned: scared, cold and hungary. You can give him the comfort he needs. You should talk to CandiMI about your concerns, she has been dealing with this for a few weeks now. Her email is: vcandiv@aol.com

Good luck, we wish you the best!

: Hi,
: I have a few questions on parents behavior when joey comes out of pouch.

: What is the maxium time that a joey can be left alone(this is his first full day out of pouch) the mama and papa have left the joey alone for a couple hours while they are out palying in the cage and eating. He(joey) has been crying on and off, I am not sure if he is scared, cold or hungry. Is it okay for him to be left alone , and if so for how long? I want to make sure he is getting the proper care, and that the parents are not rejecting him. He just seems to young to be left alone for that long, help is this normal?
