CandiMI???? posted by Cheri on June 02, 1999 at 22:40:28: Tammy hi.. I wish I could be more helpful, I have been supplimentally feeding two ( mainly one, since one is still nursing just not enough ) joeys for about 2 wks now, but I didn't start till they were a wk old and their eyes were open, then I realized they weren't growing enough and mom wasn't producing enough milk... so I placed them in a thinner pouch and layed that on a heating pad on low, with mom in the cage also since she was/is still trying to nurse, at first I tried to feed them every 2 hours, now that they are older I do it about every 3-5 depending on time of day etc I use puppy replacement milk and as they got alittle bigger I've added baby cereal to it. Just keep an eye on the baby, see if mom is nursing it, I'm not really sure how long my babies ( I have 4 joeys that came OOP the same day, two different moms, two of them are healthy two aren't )I realized there was a problem because the two of them were about 1/2 the size as their 1/2 sisters and were colder to the touch and somewhat lagarthic.... best wishes I know how scary it is, its been 3 wks for me and mine still aren't out of the woods, every day is a struggle but when you look into their sweet little eyes you would do anything in the world to save them... I'm in Michigan also! Candi & the critter crew: Sassy w/Spyder & Angel Baby, Bumble w/Mango & Raja, Max, and my young ( for sale ) pair G~Wizz: Geo & Wizzer
