Subject: Please help! The baby can't get into the pouch.

Alright, the little joey fully emerged from the pouch today and is probably a week under two months old. It does not have a good grip on its mother and everytime it tries to go back into the pouch it either goes the wrong way or passes the pouch completly. The mother is not rejecting it, she still takes interest in the baby by licking it and returning to the baby when it cries. She will leave the baby in the sleeping bag by itself while she runs around. I believe that it is too early for it to come out and I fear that it will not be able to get back in the pouch, left to die of starvation. There is -NO- chance of us holding the mother still and assisting the baby since the mother is a VERY hyperactive glider - not even with bribes of her favorite snacks! I would really appreciate a reply so that I may put my mind to rest. Thanks in advance, Michelle
