When I introduced my male, Brett, to my female, Puddin, I just put their beds next to each other and Puddin just crawled in with Brett. He crabbed at her for all of 30 seconds then they both curled up and went back to sleep, I introduced them around 5:00pm. I was going to do the seperate cage thing but the breeder I got Brett from didn't think it was necessary. In my case she was right. I did keep close eye on them that first night, but they got along right away.
Hope this helps,

: Hi -

: I have a neutered male approximately 8 months old. I just
: got a new baby female this weekend.

: I'm sorry to be covering old ground, but, I need advice on
: the best way to introduce them.

: I have my new little girl in a separate cage, in the same
: room and plan to keep it that way until she settles in. Once
: she becomes comfortable, I plan to start switching their
: blankets and very slowly let them start playing together.

: 1. Should I keep them separate for a predetermined amount
: of time just to make sure she doesn't give him some kind
: of sickness?

: 2. Are there any other things I should be doing, to ensure
: they will become fast friends?

: 3. How long does it usually take before a new pair gets used to
: each other?

: Any advice would be appreciated!

: ~W~
