: I do know, however, that allergies are caused by the dander on
: animals (their hair/fur/oils ect) and not saliva. You can be allergic
: to cats and not dogs or visa versa.

Do gliders produce a lot of dander? And is it more like cat dander or dog dander? Or is it just glider dander ? He's very allergic to cats, but it's not so bad with dogs, especially the short haired varieties.

: It is hard to tell if your fiance would be allergic without either
: being tested (although I can't think of many allergists who would
: have sugar glider serum)the other way to tell is to get him to
: be around some for a period of time.

That's great advice, but I don't know anyone in the area who actually has a sugar glider.

: You can also be allergic to feces of animals (or poop). A common
: allergy to poop, is cockroach.

I don't think there are any animals that he's allergic to in that manner. At least none that we've encountered.

Thanks for the info.
