: Justin,
: Thanks for responding. If we used flightless flies, whether they be fruit flies or house flies, wouldn't they still be able to crawl, fast? Wouldn't they lay eggs in our cages? Don't the eggs hatch into maggots?
: This is not a scenerio that thrills me. Yuk.
: Isn't there any other type of bug that we can feed our gliders that is not as fattening as a meal worm and not a sure to escape as a fly?

I haven't been able to keep any wingless house flies yet, so I don't know how fast they are, but the fruit flies aren the fastest creatures. A Sugar Glider could easily catch one. A trick I used to use is put (this works for almost anything live) them in the freezer for about 30 seconds to slow down their movement. You could also do this for pinkies or whatever else you use to feed them. And as for breeding in the cage that is very unlikely, because they are some-what difficult/timeconsuming to culture and we aren't lucky enough for them to breed easily.
BTW on wednesday I finally get my new/first sugar gliders.
Feel free to ask any other questions...
