: I was real sick this last week and have not had a chance to checJust to give a little update on Flea... I am a bit concerned about his sleeping habits tho. He will now wake up around 6pm and stay awake until around 10:30pm. He is awake when I get up at 6 in the morning but I thought that they slept more. He seems to be awake more now than he sleeps. He still gets a good 10-12 hours of sleep but I thought that they slept more.

Gliders need a good 8 hours sleep and since Flea gets more than that it sounds as though he is doing well. When they are young they sleep in frequent naps, kind of like a baby will. Parents wonder when that baby will sleep all night. While very young most gliders will take frequent short naps, this also means that they are awake frequently. Yes even during the day. As they get older they sleep more in the day and less at night. My mature gliders still take a nap around 3 in the morning. He probably fusses while in the pouch because his sleep is getting disturbed by your movements and this will make anyone or anything cranky. That is also why your singing seems to calm him. You are bonding and he realizes this as your voice and that you are near and everything is alright in his world. Keep up the good job. I can tell that he already loves you and senses you as security.
