Gliders exhibit a social behavior of nipping and yes sometimes they can bite hard enough with this behavior to break the skin although with the social nipping this rarely happens. You can discourage this behavior by blowing in their faces when they do this. Gliders do not like this and it is one way to use negative reinforcement without damaging the bond that you have formed. It does not break trust. Another way is to stop what you are doing whether it be giving them a treat or just having them out for play. If you are giving them a treat when this occurs then take it away, if they are out for play put them back into their cage. They soon learn that this behavior will not be tolerated and they usually stop. I wish you the best of luck with your girls.
