: I just bought my glider like a month and just like week my father found out were being stationed in hawaii. My question is can I bring my glider with me???? I'm very attached to him and I really dont want to sell him. I've been told that gliders are illegal in some states and I was just wondering if that was true for hawaii. And the traveling on the airplane thing, would he be okay??

Yes gliders are illegal in HI. With good reason. If a breeding pair of gliders got loose on the islands they would, not could but would, damage or wreck the ecosystem there. Kinda like what happened in Australia with the rabbits. Also you said stationed which implies the military. This would be a whole seperate can of worms, the base may have its own issues about illegal animals being imported.

I hate to say it but your best option, for the good of the glider, would to be finding your glider a new home.
