I was wondering though what is so bad about cat food?

I read that the University of Michigan did a research on feeding gliders cat food and found that it caused intestinal blockages leading to death. I discussed this with my vet and they told me that it will also cause renal, or kidney disease and disfunction. Too big a risk for me to assume on their behalf. I do not use cat food for these reasons.
