I'm here to help. Lets see. I am pretty new to this myself but I do know some stuff. Like for instance I have a huge ball for percy. Not a hamster ball but more like one for guinea pigs. Some people don't like them but I don't force percy to get in it. He does it willingly so he can travel around the whole house without getting hurt. Some gliders like it and some don't. Just make sure you have one where there toes can't get caught. We play with stuffed animals sometimes. Safe ones of course. Ones that the eyes or things can't come off of. wouldn't want him to eat anything out of the ordinary. He also likes playing hide and seek. (I don't) He always comes back out it is just scaring wondering if he is going to. any kind of ladders are good. I am going to redo my whole cage this weekend hopefully and make it more glider friendly. You need to get a sleeping pouch if you don't already have one. This is not to be confused with the pouch you carry with you. A sleeping pouch is for sleeping in the cage. Betsy's Critter Corner has some wonderful ideas on that. Infact, I am going there next. The link is probably under links here. As for food. I currently use the leadbetters diet now. I just recently changed from catfood cause I learned that feeding it as a mainstay is not healthy. It could block their intestines causing death. Too many peanut like things are bad but they are good for treats. Fruit is good. Baby food really good. Try sweet potatoes and oatmeal. Percy likes chicken, ham and turkey also. I think you can feed mealworms anytime just too many are bad things because they are very high in fat. You also want to buy something called Rep Cal. They have it at petsmart. If you have one of those too. Its basically a calcium supplement. Anyways leadbetters is really easy and given frozen percy loves it. It is also saving me some money in food. Money I can use buying other things. You need to find a vet. I get percy checked out health wise once a year for my safety and his. Also I get his nails clipped every eight weeks or so. Just cause I am afraid I will hurt him is why I let the vet do it. Any other questions email me and i'll be around. Also if I am wrong on any of this please someone tell me. I like to know in case I am doing something that would be bad for percy.
