Marie pretty much covered it all, I just wanted to add a few things...as for a toy for the cage, bird toys work well, mine love the little plastic balls with bells in them. There is a toy that is a metal circle on the bottom, and is attached in three places with string, and the strings join up...I know that sounds strange. Its a swing basically. Look for it in bird toys, mine love their new one.
I use the same diet as Marie, Bourbon's modified lead beaters and fruit on the side, you can find her page and recipe under Links on this site. As for mealworms/nuts etc, start the mealworms right away, if she won't eat it, try cutting it in half. Then try putting honey on it. It seems mealworms and crickets are an acquired taste, so keep trying. Its an important part of their diet. As for nuts, I bet she would eat them anytime...especially soft nuts like pinons, you can crush them in your fingers, and she will lick the oils off you. Remember those are treats tho, never give her very much. Mine get one, sometimes two pinion nuts per night nowadays.
