Well my guess after talking to many people is that Willow may not have enough milk. The other twin is pretty aggressive and may have kicked the weaker joey off the nipple. Her diet was great...I paid special attention and have always given plenty of bugs. I actually use your version of the leadbetters Bourban. :o) The modified version with no changes. It is definately the father, she didn't "sleep around", Friz would never have it!! I am told that Willow is petite for a full grown glider. She eats like a pig though. :o) So could be some problems on her side. Friz came from a different state so I don't think they were related...very remote chance anyway. I agree with you about not seperating them. It could cause more stress. I am going to be praying for the little fighter still in the pocket. We are prepared if it should be abandoned too. And Friz is on the way to the Doc for an end to future problems. Hopefully he did not already do his thing. Thanks Bourban and others for your help. Patty : Patty, I am so sorry about the first joey, there are a lot of things to consider here.. : 1. the diet while carrying and nursing the young?if the diet of mom isn't strong in calcium and proteins.. lots of bugs.. it may be an issue.. are you feeding the leadbeaters? have you made any achanges to it? and which version are you using? : 2. Is this definitly the father? if there is any problem, where this may not be the father, he won't accept any mans baby.. : 3.could be some gentic defects..? there could be a line of gentic defects..in either the male or female.. could they be related? mothers have a 6th sense about things.. : 4. separating the father may not be a good idea..if it is the father, then he will relieve mom, and give her a break, it is up to dad to keep them warm.
