I wash weedeil's pouch about twice a month. I don't use detergent, but it still gets clean. I don't want to take the chance that he will be allergic to the detergent. The pouch gets just as clean though, so it's no biggy. One thing though, if your glider is territorial, watch your fingers when putting her pouch back in. My baby is very territorial, and he bites his pouch and crabs at it while I put it in. He crabs at it the whole time he rescents it. It's really funny to watch. I think he is fussing at it "BAD POUCH!! How dare you go off and take away my scent! BAAAAAD POUCH!!!"
