I have found this method works best for me also. SLOW is the key. However, it has been my experience that no matter how comfortable they become with me they are still leary of other people. I have never had one go to a stranger or even of my family members. Must be the "bonding" thing. They will hide on me when someone else is around. I had hoped mine would become comfortable enough if I were around the interact with the children at school. This however has not been the case with mine. Maybe yours will react differently. Keep up the good work. Just remember SLOW.
