I was tossing which post to reply to, so I decided to do it this way.. I was told by an Aussie Vet, that the honey by itself, even in small amounts, can cause a glider to be hyperglycemic over a period of time. I asked about the leadbeaters and the honey and what he said was this..
"While mixed up into the leadbeaters (blended well) the honey is actually dispersed throughout the entire recipe. Unlike the straight honey." I used to have honey on my bonding page as a finger treat, he told me to substitue it with something else that was healthier for them, that is when I changed it to applesauce, yoguart, or the "chicken with apples" baby food. We have found several thgings that will work just as well, and be better for them in the long run.
Ron, I am glad to see the progress is being made, but adding some variety to the licky substances, it will also allow your glider to associate your hands with loads of good things..
