I use a piece of 'gravel paper', which is a bird product, on the bottom of their cage - placing their bowl of food in the center of it. They have to walk across the paper to eat. :)
**I do not leave the paper in all of the time, but ONLY use it maybe once a month, overnight.
This, in effect, files the tip of their nails - dulling the points.
I am very careful, checking the palms of their lil'feet and hands for scratches and have found none.
If you do use this method, be very cautious and aware of your glider. It does have the potential to harm them, if not done wisely.

When you do trim their nails, please be very careful. Not only to hurt the glider by trimming them too short and causing bleeding but also be aware that trimming them too short can cause injury while they are out playing. They need their nails to manuver themselves and land safely from a glide.
