I do not have any other pets, so I cannot give you personal information on the interacction between gliders and other animals. Sugar Gliders take allot of patience and supervision and that would increase if there is another pet in the house. But I have heard of others tell stories about their gliders interacting with other pets. (I personally would be very nervous about it, if it were me.) My male glider is neutered, but only because I have him paired with a female. I am not sure that I would have had it done otherwise, because with any surgery there is always that risk that something could go wrong, so I was worried sick over it. Someone may instruct you otherwise, but I wouldn't see that it be necessary if you aren't planning to breed the glider. There are also very good books about gliders. I have two of them: Sugar Gliders - A complete pet owner's manual by Caroline MacPherson You might check those out and the link below. My gliders certainly have proved to be the most entertaining pet that I have ever owned. But as mentioned above, they take allot of patience and many late night hours for me. Also, on another note, I only have one person that will offer to take care of them if I have to go out of town, everyone else lumps them into the "rat" category and is afraid of them. So, that may be a consideration also, if you travel allot. (I am so glad that I trust my sister with my babies while I'm gone, they seem to recognize her and accept her as a temporary mom, even though I'm sure they realize that she is also somewhat afraid of them, too.) Hope this helps... Tanya (and Loco, Bonita and Charla)
