There was a discussion about this a couple of days ago (you might scroll down aways to read everyone else's comments. I found that nesting boxes made of wood (or anything in the cage made of wood) stinks very bad. I threw out the nesting box right away and bought pouches.

Also, cleaning the cage once a week keeps mine from permeating the whole apartment. If I have company, I always put a pot of popourri on the stove with cinnamon sticks, just in case. You can also get a product called "Filter Mates" to go on your intake filter of your air ducts that puts a pleasant aroma throughout the house whenever the air comes on.
