Today is April 22nd. This is going to sound really awful. I didn't take
my baby to the vet, actually against my better judgement. I have done a
bunch of research on his problem and I am pretty sure it is calcium
defeciency. I read on the internet about some people who had a sick
glider like mine and he pulled through with extra attention to his
nutrition. I also noticed, that the people who took their glider to the
vet both sadly lost their glider anyways. So, I have been taking extra
good care of him. After research on his nutrition, I realised that I
haven't been feeding him properly. When I got him, I didn'nt know a thing
about gliders, or even that they existed, and got him on the spur of the
moment. So, I figured out that I haven't been giving him nearly enough
calcium, or, I think, protein. I made him some Leadbeaters mix (with
RepCal) and I have been feeding it to him by hand just to make sure he
eats it. I also feed him water by hand and anything else he will eat. He
has been doing a lot better lately. Last night he came out of his nest
and ate on his own. I am confident that he will pull through and glad
that I remedied my foolish negligence in time to save the love of my life,
my little Ling Ling. Thank you for showing your concern. I will send you
updates on his condition as he, hopefully, improves even more.
