Here goes... She deffinitly sounds as if she was sold too young. If a glider is sold before fully weaned they will foten ebcome finiky eaters. Glider joeys depend upon mom to teach them how to eat. She may never grow out of this. It is very importiant to get her on a healthy proven glider diet. Leadbeasters is good...what do you mean you are going out to get some? I assume you eman the ingredients, since this is something you have to make. Gliders can sleep with their eyes open. So when you see her asleep on the side of the cage that should be fine. I would be worried that she cant get down from her cage. Do you know her previous diet? She needs to go to a vet for a normal check up..but she may also have some type of calcium defficency if she was fed improperly before. It takes a while to teach gliders to come when you call, s0o that is not odd at all. Her crabbing in her sleep is a little odd, but I'm not sure what it is...I don't see why it couldn't be a ni.aspare. Gliders are nocturnal. 5 pm is too early for most gliders. My glider is perfectly healthy and bonded, yet he wouldnt come out and play that early. All he would do is hide and sleep. Most gliders will not get up before 9-11 pm at night. You deffinitly do not wnat to put her food out before she will eat it. If you put it oput at 5 and she gets up at 11 she will probably not eat the food. You need to put it out right as she wakes up. You are spending lots of great bonding time but she needs you to spend 2-3 hrs of playtime with her every night. Are you sure she isnt getting up late at night and playing in the cage? You may simply be asleep durring her playtime. She is a baby so she is going to sleep a lot, but she should not sleep all of the time. She shoudl wake up and play on her own some durring the night. When you do take her out to play make sure the ligths are real low. Mine will not play with any lights on except the nightlight. So try turning off the lights before playtime, and try giing her some apple juice to give her a little energy. Hopefully this will help her to wake up and play. Good luck!
