: Bourbon and Betsy,
: I in fact was not thinking about getting another. The person who
: is giving me the glider knows even less than I do.I knew that
: I should try to calm it down.I knew that I should get to
: know the glider before getting a second. The old owner said
: that this glider was actually not horribly crabby. He said,
: like others have said before, that it will nibble on you.
: Not like out of hatred, just for the sake of nibbling.
: He thought that this meant that he is aggressive. He also
: said that he had heard that this might be from loneliness.
: He said that I would only get this one from him if I thought
: that after a while, I would get a companion for it. I made
: a post a while back, but then I used my real name, Kyle.
: Read it. The response said that this glider was pretty normal.
: If I had not gotten that response, I would not have promised
: the previous owner that I would buy a companion. Then the
: person who is giving him to me said a few other things that made
: the glider sound a little bit crabbier. I had already promised
: him that I would get him a companion. Now I am stuck between a rock
: and a hard place. So don't go bite my head off before you know the whole
: story.

Kyle-
First off - I have never bit anyone's head off. If my post hit a nerve, good. You need to think very hard about this. There are very few people (you may or may not be one of them) who could work with a glider like the one that you have been describing. I know two separate people who have had a mean glider kill another glider. So, when you tell me this glider that you are getting has been passed along I have to ask myself "why?". Why isn't anyone willing to keep this little guy and work with him. Is he vicious? Has he killed other gliders? Does he eat glider babies? Or has he just been unfortunte in the people he has been "given" to? Do you have what it takes?
If you put a sweet young glider in with this one - it could be disasterous.
Maybe you should tell this breeder that he should not make you promise things. Either he trusts you enough to give you this glider and make the right choices regarding the glider OR he is dumping it on you and hoping that another glider will calm this one down. You must have concerns of your own.
Sorry that you felt I was yelling at you. Maybe I hit a nerve?
